3) Glass Spice Jars
Glass containers are perfect for storing spices because they're not porous, meaning it'll be easy to identify what's inside the container since all you see is clear glass. The only downside about these types of storage options would have on stored items is that light can break them down over time and make their shelf life shorter than if been stored in an opaque material such as ceramic or metal.
4) Plastic Herb and Spice Bottles and Jars
The store bought plastic bottles are no recommended for a number of reasons. Firstly they are extremely un-environmentally friendly, although you may think keeping a plastic jar for months or even years at a time is a good way to be more environmentally friendly, ultimately it will end up in the bin. You also have no idea how much light and heat that spice or herb has been subjected too. A better alternative is too buy either freshly made herbs from local stores that are growing and drying them, or if that is too much hassle buy pre-packaged ones inside cardboard packaging, with minimal plastic.
5) Ziplock Bag for Herbs and Spices
As mentioned above plastic isn't ideal for storing, as its is prone to light hitting them and ruining the quality. However if you can take a plastic bag and have it re-filled at a fresh herb or spice shop, and then you keep it in a cupboard it could be a better alternative.
